Increasing Winter Wheat Grain Yield by Replicating the Management Adopted in High-Yielding Commercial Fields in Kansas during 2021–2022

چکیده
Large winter wheat (Triticum aestivum) yield gaps between actual yields from farmers and potential in the U.S. Great Plains indicate need to improve recommendations of best management strategies profitably bridge these gaps. Many studies have compared individual factors pre-determined by researcher, but we are not aware comparing combination practices that producers currently using, which would be more relevant for real-world scenarios. Our objective was determine gains resulting intensification using adopted commercial fields. Four intensities (i.e., low, average, high, top) were derived a survey 656 fields, replicated trials conducted six western Kansas locations (cultivated after sorghum-fallow period) central (directly no-tilled following soybean) during 2021–2022 growing season. Management tested factorially on two adapted varieties differed sites. Grain ranged 37.1 bu/a low intensity 47.3 top intensity, with increases 14%, 6%, 5% average high intensities, respectively. The variety WB4269 outyielded Zenda (44.6 41.3 bu/a) across environments. In Kansas, there significant effect, where increased (from 45.9 60.1–61.4 bu/a); though WB-Grainfield KS Dallas had similar yields. Using as yielding low- or average-management while further sometimes resulted no increases. Variety selection played an important role increase attained dependent location Kansas.

Grain yield and phosphorus use efficiency of wheat and pea in a high yielding environment
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the response of grain yield, phosphorus (P) use efficiency (PUE, g yield g–1 P available) and related root traits of wheat and pea to different P availabilities in a high yielding environment (e.g.: yield higher than 10 Mg ha-1 for wheat). Two experiments were conducted in southern Chile. Treatments consisted of the combination of (i) two crops (spri...

متن کاملWinter Wheat Grain Yield and Grain Nitrogen as Influenced by Bed and Conventional Planting Systems
Bed planted wheat systems offer a new alternative for the traditional wheat producer to provide opportunities for crop rotation, more efficient use of water, and new techniques of nutrient management. This study was conducted to determine if planting winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in Oklahoma on raised beds can maintain grain yields while providing more options in the cropping system. Expe...
متن کاملInfluence of Leaf Diseases on Grain Yield and Yield Components in Winter Wheat
Leaf diseases’ influence the relationship between the yield and yield components of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Field experiments were conducted during 2003–2006 on a light loamy gleyic cambisoil in the central part of Lithuania to determine how leaf disease severity level affects grain yield and yield components. The area under disease progress curves (AUDPC), grain yield and yield co...
متن کاملRemobilization of water soluble carbohydrates in non-leaf organs and contribution to grain yield in winter wheat under reduced irrigation
The remobilization of water soluble carbohydrates (WSC) has an important role for grain yield. This study investigated the accumulation and remobilization of WSC in non-leaf organs (chaff, upper stem, and lower stem) and their contribution to grain yield, under different irrigation levels (rainfed, reduced irrigation, and full irrigation) and seeding rate treatments (450, 600 and 750 plants...
